In recent years, being a multi-tasker has been the buzz.
Maybe at one point, I thought I could do that. But not so much any more.
I've been trying to learn how to pare down and focus better. With fewer distractions.
But as a home schooling mom with 3 kids still at home, that's been hard for me to do.
Throw in one daughter having 3 knee surgeries in 9 months, me having Achilles Tendon surgery after she was recovered, traveling to Europe, and trying to finish up home schooling. This has left me with some undone jobs around the house and in my life.
Right now, we still have a family vacation to prepare for, one son has knee surgery scheduled (easier than my daughter's surgeries), her getting ready to leave for college and my youngest son getting ready to go to high school and join his brother after being home schooled up till now. And, I need to clean out our former school room for my oldest son to have as his bedroom.
Then there are a couple of computer issues that I need to address that will take 20-30 hours....
I wish I could do all of this simultaneously. I really do. But I know that I need to devote my time to getting my kids settled where they need to be and taking care of them in the next month.
So, I'm taking a blogging break until August 17.
(SIGN UP for email and get Monday's Musings, Wordless Wednesday and Friday Photo Tips right in your inbox and you'll get all my new posts as soon as they start!)
But I'm really excited about returning August 17 with a new focus, more photos and more photography tips!
Plus, I've got some more things up my sleeve that I can't wait to tell you about!
I'll be on Instagram in the interim and would love for you to follow me there!
Here are a couple of pics from our recent trip to France! I'll share many more once I get my photo storage sorted out. (That's part of my hours of computer work to be done!)

Beautiful flowers. Kudos to you for taking a break. We all need that from time to time and your schedule sounds full right now. I wish all of you well for healing and time together.
ReplyDeleteAwww I think that a break is really needed. I took some last year and I feel refreshed when I went back.
ReplyDeleteThat's way too many surgeries in there, I sincerely hope you got a family group discount rate?! Enjoy your blogging break you all deserve it otherwise you'll all be on your knees… Oh my goodness I hope this is making you smile, otherwise I'm in deep, deep trouble! See you on Instagram and you take care :)

Good to hear you are having a blogging break and focusing on the more important things. I really need to do the same but have a couple of ongoing sponsored commitments that mean I can't really afford to take a break.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time off! Try to work in some rest time. You are too wonderful to be stressed and exhausted.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are having a wonderful summer, in spite of all of the surgical issues!
ReplyDeleteYou SO deserve it Mary!
Stay in touch as you're able! :-)
Have a wonderful time, and best wishes.
